In August and September 2021, the Indian Cricket team (Captain: Virat Kohli) are touring England to play five Test Matches (Award: Pataudi Trophy). India Vs. England test series 2021 will be the first matches of the second edition (2021 - 2023) of the ICC World Test Championship.

Out of the five test matches, the first one ended in a draw due to the rain. England (Captain: Joe Root) won the third test match by an innings. The second and fourth test matches were won by India, to lead the series 2 - 1 with one match to play in Old Trafford, Manchester.

India Vs. England

 

A. First Test Match: This match was played (4 - 8 August 2021) at Trent Bridge, Nottingham and resulted in a draw due to the rain. The umpires of the match: Michael Gough (England) and Richard Kettleborough (England). In this first test match, England elected to bat after winning the toss and the player of the match was awarded to Joe Root (England). The summary of this match is as follows:

C. Third Test Match: This match was played (25 - 29 August 2021) at Headingley, Leeds and England won by an innings (plus 76 runs). The umpires of the match: Richard Kettleborough (England) and Alex Wharf (England). In this third test match, the Indian elected to bat after winning the toss and the player of the match was awarded to Ollie Robinson (England). The summary of this match is as follows:
> India: 78 (40.4 Overs) and 278 (99.3 Overs)

D. Fourth Test Match: This match was played (2 - 6 September 2021) at The Oval, London and India won by 157 runs. The umpires of the match: Richard Illingworth (England) and Alex Wharf (England). In the fourth test match, England elected to field after winning the toss and the player of the match was awarded to Rohit Sharma (India). The summary of this match is as follows:

E. Fifth Test Match: This match will be played (10 - 14 September 2021) at Old Trafford, Manchester. The umpires of the match: Michael Gough (England) and Richard Kettleborough (England).


About Pataudi Trophy: Jocelyn Burton designed and made the "Pataudi Trophy". The winner of each test cricket series between India and England playing in England is awarded this trophy. Pataudi Trophy is retained by the holding country if the series is drawn between two countries.

The background of the "Pataudi Trophy" is that it was named after the Pataudi cricketing family (Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi). India played in England for fourteen series before the inception (the year 2007) of the Pataudi Trophy and the overall record was 1 drawn series; 2 Indian victories; 11 English victories. In the years 2007 - 2018, India won one and England three out of the four complete Pataudi Trophy series.
